Bingo Hearts Review

If you love to play bingo online (don’t we all?), then Bingo Hearts could be just the site you are looking for, an online bingo website that has been lovingly created by bingo fans for bingo players.

Taken over and re-branded by 888 Holdings in 2014, Bingo Hearts has everything a player could possibly wish for, including bingo rooms, bonuses, a great gaming atmosphere and more.

Does Bingo Hearts still have what it takes to compete in a crowded online gaming market or this one website that may have a lot of heart but fail to deliver when push comes to shove? Being part of an extended Network of sites should give Bingo Hearts the back up it needs to really deliver on the gaming front although this can be a double-edged advantage as often Network sites can be very similar to other sister websites making them a hard sell for visitors who have experienced any of these.

Setting Hearts a Flutter

Landing on the homepage visitors will instantly notice the yellow and red logo which has three bingo balls complete with hearts instead of numbers, the rest of the layout is very clean and presentable with a standard landing page design of a main menu at the top of the page, underneath which is a slide bonus, jackpots, promotions, instant games and top winners.

If the layout seems familiar, that is because many of the bingo sites in the 888 Network use a similar template which is then appropriately reskinned to match the branding for the website in question, in this case, the use of red, gold and hearts.

For this reason, visually Bingo Hearts does not exactly wow with its presentation, going for functional rather than pretty, with many rival sites offering prettier visuals and making better use of the screen dimensions, Mecca Bingo is one such example.

Buy no means a complete disaster, whilst Bingo Hearts may not set your heart a fluttering and prove to be an instant landing homepage winner, the use of the branding is effective enough although there is certainly plenty of scope for improvement, however, looks are not everything and it is what happens underneath that really counts, right?

Playing Games with your Heart

As with other sites in the Network that includes both Spy Bingo and 888 Bingo, the Bingo Hearts is built using the Dragonfish software, a tried and trusted mainstay of the industry that means the games load quickly and run without any issues, downloading and installing once selected. The downside of this is that if you have played any other 888 Holdings bingo sites the games and rooms available may be a little over-familiar as there is nothing on offer here that has not been done elsewhere.

Having said that, the range of games is still good and new players to the Network will find plenty to keep them entertained, with 90, 75 and rarely offered 52 ball bingo rooms, along with casino games, scratchcards and slots for a change of scenery. There are also a number of free to play bingo rooms, with real cash prizes to be won, which is a great way for members to try out the games before making a deposit and an added bonus for those on a tighter budget but who would still like the odd game or two.

Live chat can be found in most games, this not only helps to build a fun social atmosphere but can also help players top up any bingo budget with extra promotions and games held regularly. These are easy to miss, particularly in the depths of a frantic gaming session, so it is worth keeping at least one on the chat at all times so as to not miss out.

Being part of a larger network, Bingo Hearts does pool players from other sites for some games, and whilst this may increase competition within a game, it does have the upside of being able to offer bigger jackpots, an example of which is the £10,000 game held on the 10th of every month. Many of the bingo rooms also feature progressive jackpots which is an unexpected bonus we like to see on any bingo site.

Bingo Hearts Membership

As is standard with most bingo sites nowadays, visitors to Bingo Hearts are able to see what is available, however, if they want to play any of the games they must first register and become a member. This is a short, three-step process that once complete means they are free to get stuck in and can also access the mobile version of the site.

A link to a useful FAQ page can be found in the website footer which covers more commonly asked questions and help is also available in the shape of live help once registered, alternatively, there is also telephone support and email.

There is also a Loyalty Plan for members where every month, they have the chance to climb the loyalty levels with rookies, pros, masters and champs for every £1 they deposit and wager, this can then be cashed in for additional rewards and bonuses such as free game rooms, free spins and free tickets to The Big £10k Game. The Loyalty Plan isn’t the most generous we have come across, although with many bingo sites not offering such an incentive, any form of scheme is good to see although they could certainly expand on this further.

Deposit methods accepted include Visa, Mastercard, Entropay, Paypal, Paysafecard, Wire Transfer and Apple Pay with limits currently set at on an individual basis. The minimum for withdrawals is £5 with no upper limit which is good to see especially with some huge progressive jackpots to be won.

Players based in the UK are able to register and play, although, at the time of review there are a number of country restrictions in place, these being American Samoa, Antigua and Barbuda, Belgium, Denmark, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, French Southern Territories, French Southern and Antarctic Territories, Gibraltar, Guam, Israel, Italy, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, U.S. Minor Outlying Islands, U.S. Miscellaneous Pacific Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands and United States.

Playing on Mobile & Tablet

If you prefer to take your bingo with you or simply cannot be bothered to turn on the laptop, then you may be pleased to know that playing Bingo Hearts on a mobile device provides a very similar experience to the desktop version of the site.

There is currently no app to download for iOS or Android devices, players should head to the normal website address where they will be automatically redirected to a mobile version of the website. The mobile layout is much better suited to the smaller screen dimensions and features all the same bingo games and most of the slot games as the full website. The look and feel of Bingo Hearts mobile is very similar to the desktop site and thanks to the tried and tested Dragonfish software plays just as well with games downloaded and installed as and when required, typically taking between 10-15 seconds depending on internet connection.

One aspect missing we would have liked to have seen is the option of making a deposit via Boku. Most mobile gaming sites have introduced this as an easy way for members to make a swift deposit of up to £30 and something we think should be included as standard on all mobile bingo websites.

Playing Bingo Hearts on a mobile device is almost as much fun as the desktop but with the added bonus of the convenience. The mobile website is a great addition that now allows members to enjoy the games anytime, anywhere they wish.

Social Media Pages

Unlike some of the other sites also owned and operated by 888 Holdings, at the time of writing Bingo Hearts has no social media pages supporting the main website. This is obviously an aspect of the site that could be worked on, as other rival bingo websites have already proved building a social media presence can really help to develop a community atmosphere.

The Verdict – Worth a fling

Did we fall in love with Bingo Hearts? Well, yes and no, for us it was a short term, but fun, affair. As we have played other sites in the 888 Holdings Network, there was very little here to keep our long term attention, if we hadn’t then we can see the site holding a much longer term appeal. Essentially, Bingo Hearts is a re-skin of every other site in the Network, although the range of games is decent enough, especially for newcomers and they play well. Visually there are better looking sites available, Wink Bingo being a good example of this, and whilst not a deal breaker we do appreciate a good-looking online bingo site, that is not to say Bingo Hearts looks rubbish, just that other sites manage to be more visually stimulating.

As an overall online bingo experience, Bingo Hearts delivers, it is fun with a lively social atmosphere. and we enjoyed our time playing the games and finding out what the site has to offer. However, unless you fall head over heels for it you may soon find your eye wandering off to the better-looking competition.
