Pariplay announces partnership with Svenska Spel

(PRESS RELEASE) — Pariplay Ltd., a gaming technology company serving iGaming operators, land-based casinos and lotteries, has announced a new partnership with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, Sweden’s largest and most successful online gaming firm. For Pariplay, the partnership marks a momentous breakthrough into Sweden’s recently regulated market, further asserting its leadership role in gaming’s emerging regions.

Partnering with the state-owned Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, which has dominated Sweden’s regulated market since it went live on 1 January 2019, positions Pariplay for impressive growth through the rest of 2019 and beyond. The deal provides an exciting opportunity for Swedish players to enjoy Pariplay’s complete catalogue of casino games, reaching a new audience that promises to strengthen its role as an industry-leading supplier of engaging and innovative content.

Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, which provides a wide range of products that include sportsbook, casino and lottery, has enjoyed steady growth since market regulation in January, proving its unmatched ability to engage Sweden’s diverse target audience. In its interim report for Q1 2019, the operator boasted an increase of 14% in digital business compared to Q1 2018, as mobile sales also increased by over 21%.

Further bolstering anticipation of the partnership is the upcoming launch of Pariplay’s exciting new online slot – Lucky Vegas. While the global release of Lucky Vegas takes place on 29 May, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino will be Sweden’s exclusive provider of the game for its first two weeks after launch (i.e., 29 May to 11 June). This will give local players the chance to enjoy a fresh new game via Sweden’s top gaming operator.

In addition to Sweden, Pariplay’s presence in Europe’s regulated markets has recently seen its services go live in Italy and Bulgaria. These accompany existing partnerships in the U.K., Germany and Belgium. The revolutionary games supplier also recently acquired a B2B license in Romania and is in the process of expanding into Denmark, Portugal and Spain.

Jonas Nygren, VP Casino of Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, said, “We’re thrilled by our new partnership with Pariplay and what it will mean for all of Svenska Spel Sport & Casino players. Having already enjoyed success across many other regulated markets, we feel that Pariplay’s diverse collection of games will complement our existing product offering and give Sweden’s players even more exciting gaming experiences.”

Richard Mintz, Commercial and Marketing Director at Pariplay, said,“Partnering with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, Sweden’s largest gaming operator, cements our presence in the region and highlights our drive for forward-thinking innovation. This aligns with our strategic goals for 2019, which are focused on Pariplay continuing to collaborate with the leading operators in the industry’s biggest regulated markets.”

UKGC fines four online operators for £4.5 million

(PRESS RELEASE) — Four gambling businesses are to pay a total of £4.5 million in penalty packages as part of the U.K. Gambling Commission’s ongoing investigation into the online casino sector.

InTouch Games Limited will pay £2.2 million, BetIt Operations Limited will pay £1.4 million, and MT Secure Trade will pay £700,000 in lieu of financial penalties, and BestBet will pay a financial penalty of £230,972.

The penalty packages relate to the businesses failings to put in place effective safeguards to prevent money laundering and keep consumers safe from gambling harm.

The penalty packages form part of an ongoing investigation into the online casino sector. Over the last 18 months the regulator has conducted assessments of, or engaged with, 123 online operators — and of the 45 told to submit an action plan to raise standards, 38 have already showed signs of improvement. A further 34 were compliant with standards expected by the Commission or had minor issues which have been, or are in the process of being, remedied.

Since the investigation began, five operators have surrendered their licenses and can no longer transact with consumers in Britain. In November 2018, three companies paid nearly £14 million in penalty packages as result of their failings to put in place effective safeguards to prevent money laundering and keep consumers safe from gambling-related harm.

Richard Watson, Gambling Commission Executive Director, said, “We have been working hard to raise standards in the online industry to ensure that gambling is crime-free and that the one in five people in Britain who gamble online every month can do so safely.”

“But our work will not stop here. As a regulator, we will continue to set and enforce standards that the industry must comply with to protect consumers.”

“We expect operators to know their customers and to ask the right questions to make sure they meet their anti-money laundering and social responsibility obligations.”
