Gone Bingo Review

One of the longest running online bingo sites that is owned and operated by Best Bingo Network and uses software provided by Cozy Games, Gone Bingo has been live since March 2008.

Has this bingo site managed to keep up with the competition, recent updates would suggest they are giving it a real, ahem go, or is Gone Bingo living off past reputation and, as the name suggests, now a relic of the online bingo world having gone past its play by date, a case of going, going, gone?

Refreshing to see

Gone Bingo has gone through several redesigns since it was first launched, this is a normal process most longer established bingo sites go through that helps to keep a site looking modern and fresh.

Sharing the standard Cozy Games template used by other websites in the Network, such as Velvet Bingo and Ghost Bingo, Gone Bingo is a full screen bingo site that has been skinned using their own branding. Predominantly green and dark purple with a British flag inspired logo the site certainly looks the part with a nice clean, easy to read layout.

The main homepage has a main banner advertising the latest player deposit bonus dominating the top of the screen, underneath which are links to various slot and casino games. This is then followed by recent winners and a useful bingo schedule, something we always like to see and a great way of planning any bingo session. At the bottom of the page is written content giving details about the site, other pages of the website can be accessed using the main menu located towards the top of the page.

Gone Bingo is a good-looking online bingo site; the title isn’t the easiest to brand and we think they do a reasonable job with it. The layout may be familiar to players who have tried other websites in the Network, but the visuals are different enough to give Gone Bingo it’s own personality and although the site won’t ‘wow’, it certainly does enough to suggest this site is worth playing.

Lots of Bingo Rooms

Gone Bingo has a pretty decent variety of bingo rooms to choose from that includes 90, 80, 75 and 30 ball bingo, with names such as Big Ben and Hump Day Room. These are shared rooms played across the Best Bingo Network and will be familiar to players who have tried any of the other sister bingo sites, Champers Bingo for example.

Casino games are also available and whilst not as comprehensive as a dedicated casino site, they do offer a welcome distraction with a line up that includes blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker and craps. There are also a number of slots to play, some with huge progressive jackpots to be won, and a selection of scratchcards.

Many of the games also feature Live Chat, with hosts also throwing in the occasional extra game or bonus. These can be easily missed and are worth keeping as eye out for as they are a great way to top up any bingo budget.

Whilst the variety and number of games is good, Gone Bingo does not offer anything original in their line up with a similar selection available across the other bingo sites in the Network. Whilst this won’t be an issue for most players, those looking for something a bit different may be disappointed to find nothing new here and are best looking to an independent website such as Tombola Bingo for an alternative take on online bingo.

Gone Bingo Membership

As with other site in the Best Bingo Network, visitors on a desktop can surf Gone Bingo to see what games and offers are available, however before playing registration is required. This is an easy to follow two step process that only takes a few minutes after which players are free to deposit and choose a game to join. Membership login details can also be used to access the mobile version of the site, so players can take their gaming anywhere they wish.

Deposit methods allowed include Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, PayPal, Ukash, Paysafe card, Neteller and Boku, with limits set to £500, except Boku which is £30. Withdrawals can be done via Bank Wire Transfer, Cheque, MasterCard, Neteller, PayPal and Visa with no limit set. This is good to see with the potential to win large progressive jackpots often restricted by monthly withdrawal conditions.

For those members who require it, help is available through live chat and an email contact form, there is also a FAQ page linked in the footer of the site which covers regularly asked queries.

Playing on Mobile & Tablet

Built using the Cozy Games software, Gone Bingo delivers a decent gaming experience when playing on a mobile or tablet device.

With no need to download a separate app from the iOS or Google Play store, players should head directly to the normal website address where they will automatically be redirected to a mobile optimised version of the site with a layout better suited to the smaller screen dimensions. First time visitors will have to register their details on a desktop first after which the mobile version can be accessed using membership login credentials.

Mobile Gone Bingo shares a similar look and feel to the desktop website, although it features a slightly smaller line up of games, which typically take 10-15 seconds to download and install once selected. Members can also use Boku when depositing which is both easy and convenient and a definite mobile plus.

One point to be aware of is that, and this is something that effects all Cozy Games based mobile bingo sites, sometimes the games do not fit the screen exactly and this can lead to the occasional wrong button press when things get frantic. This however is not a game breaker and not enough to ruin the Gone Bingo mobile experience.

Social Media Pages

Unlike many online bingo sites in the Cozy Games Network, Gone Bingo does have a number of social media pages up and running in the shape of a Facebook page, Twitter account and Google Plus.

Suitably branded to match the main bingo site, the Gone Bingo Facebook page currently has 78 followers at the time of review. Posted material consists of promotions and lots of news on responsible gambling. However, nothing new has been posted since early November 2018 and it looks like the page has been recently abandoned.

Their Twitter page fairs even worse. Again branded to match the main website there have been no new tweets, all of which are promotions and gaming news, since September 2016 and clearly this account has long been ignored and not worth following.

Google has recently abandoned plans to continue with Google Plus so it is not surprising to find the Gone Bingo account has had no updates since August 2017. Like the other social media accounts, the page is designed to match the main website and posts are mainly news and promotion based. It is, however, not a page that we can recommend keeping an eye on.

The Verdict – Keeping up with the competition

A staple, long running bingo site in the Best Bingo Network, Gone Bingo ticks all the boxes in terms of presentation, range of games, bonuses, jackpots and general atmosphere. However, there is little to distinguish the site from other bingo websites in the Network and if you have played any of these then Gone Bingo has nothing new to offer aside from the visuals, even then it shares the same template. Those who are new to the game will find a site that more than meets their needs and won’t be disappointed.

It is easy to see why Gone Bingo has lasted so long, reinventing themselves to stay relevant and fresh, this is one bingo site that we can see staying popular for many years to come.
